      Start With the Packaging Application

      The best structure is the one that provides the required balance between barrier protection, mechanical support, appearance and processing performance.

      For one packaging line, a particular foil thickness and paper weight may provide the right combination. Another manufacturer may need a different structure because of its equipment, package design or end-use requirements.

      This is why material selection is better approached as a packaging engineering decision rather than a simple purchasing decision.
