On-Site Flange Restoration with FI40E Flange Facer – Precision Machining in Action
The image shows one of our latest on-site machining projects successfully completed by MT Portable Machine’s service team. The task involved the precise restoration of a damaged flange sealing face at an industrial facility. Due to corrosion and mechanical wear, the sealing surface no longer met operational standards and required immediate attention. Our team was dispatched with the FI40E flange facer, a proven performer in field machining environments, and the repair was completed with full satisfaction from the client.
The FI40E flange facer is one of MT’s most versatile and widely adopted models. With a machining range of 153mm to 1000mm, it is suitable for approximately 70% of common flange sizes used in the industry. Its dual-direction automatic feed system—both radial and axial—ensures that the tool path adheres strictly to the ASME B16.5 spiral serration standard, which is critical for proper gasket seating and leak prevention. This feature allows for precision-controlled surface finishes, whether flat, raised, or RTJ sealing faces.
