A longer mascara wand needs to be evaluated in its closed assembly. The relevant distance runs from a defined closure reference to the lowest point of the installed brush, compared with the available internal depth at that position. Overall bottle height and nominal capacity do not provide that clearance.
Use a common assembly reference
Establish the cap’s intended closed position using the matched neck, closure and wiper components. On the drawing, relate the installed wand and brush to that position. A stem measured before attachment can give a different result because the length received inside the cap or brush joint is not exposed inside the reservoir.
Check the actual internal bottom profile where the brush sits. A recessed, curved or sloping bottom cannot be replaced by a single exterior height measurement. For a curved or offset brush, review its full envelope as well as its lowest point.
Separate normal seating from unintended contact
Close representative samples using the specified method without forcing the cap to a preferred position. If resistance appears before normal closure seating, compare the observed position with the drawing and inspect the component set. Resistance can arise at several interfaces; it is not proof that the brush has reached the bottom.
Where contact is suspected, an engineering inspection of the actual assembly can show whether the brush bends or compresses. An appropriately prepared section or other agreed inspection method may help locate the contact, provided the preparation has not displaced the parts. An opened pack alone cannot show the former closed position reliably.

Review variation in the complete set
Compare the relevant dimensional tolerances together: closure seating position, wand attachment, brush length and internal depth. A nominal gap on one drawing does not establish the clearance across every allowed component combination. Do not assign a universal minimum gap without the design requirements.
Use the intended formula and filling level for the subsequent functional evaluation. Observe closure, insertion and withdrawal under the agreed conditions. Formula loading and wiping are additional results; a brush that clears the bottom has not thereby been validated for application performance.
Recheck the relationship after a change
A different brush attachment, cap, neck or reservoir can change the installed position even when the visible wand looks unchanged. Keep the clearance review tied to component identifiers and drawing revisions, then confirm it on representative assemblies.
Sambound’s mascara packaging references at sambound.com provide a starting point for selecting an empty pack. The selected assembly establishes whether the brush clears the reservoir; a larger capacity figure or a certification label cannot substitute for that check.
